Kit Harington on the 'Weird' Experience of Kissing Sophie Turner in 'The Dreadful'
Kit Harington, the actor known for his role as Jon Snow in the hit series Game of Thrones, is set to reunite with his on-screen sister, Sophie Turner, in the upcoming gothic horror film The Dreadful. But this reunion comes with a twist: they play love interests in the movie, which Harington found "a bit weird."
In an interview with E! News, Harington revealed that Turner sent him the script for the film, and he was initially unsure about the project. "I was like, 'These guys, these are lovers, right?' I felt very odd about that," he said. Despite the awkwardness, Harington admitted that working with Turner again was still a pleasant experience after their eight seasons as siblings on Game of Thrones."It was a good chance to be with her again and work together," he shared. "What was lovely is that we got on set together, and our friendship completely ignited again. It felt like being with family."
The Dreadful follows Anne (Turner) and her mother-in-law, Morwen (Marcia Gay Harden), who live a solitary, harsh life on the outskirts of society. When a mysterious man from their past, played by Harington, returns, he triggers a series of horrifying events that will forever change Anne's life. The film explores themes of family, secrets, and the consequences of one's past, all while delivering a chilling and suspenseful narrative.
As the actors navigate their on-screen romance, Harington's character's height difference with Turner adds an extra layer of humor to their interactions. "It was slightly embarrassing, having to get on an apple box to kiss her because she’s about a foot taller than me," Harington joked. Despite the awkwardness, the actors' chemistry and friendship shone through, making the film a unique and intriguing addition to the horror genre.
