Eric and Julianne, who served as the general sales manager and program director, respectively, were informed on Wednesday that their last day had arrived. In a heartfelt live announcement on Facebook, Eric expressed his heartbreak and gratitude to the loyal listeners who had supported them throughout their careers.
"Combined, we have dedicated 60 years to this radio station group. Your support has been incredible," Eric said.
Norfolk's Sinclair Communications, the owner of 97.3 BOB FM and several other stations, has undergone significant changes. Bob Sinclair Sr., the company's longtime owner, passed away earlier this year, leaving a legacy that his son, Bob Sinclair Jr., now carries forward.
Eric acknowledged the challenges the company has faced, stating, "There are many reasons why people in radio leave, often due to ratings. But our numbers have been exceptional, thanks to listeners like you."
In a statement, Bob Sinclair, the General Manager, explained that these decisions were purely financial and not performance-related, adding, "We appreciate their dedication and wish them well."
